Humans first is our priority. That’s why Phima Voyages works with a code of ethics, engaged among others against all kind of exploitation of children and adolescents in any form, especially sexual exploitation and labor.
What we do
We ensure that the hotels we work with respect the rights of children and are not accomplice to sexual exploitation and bribery of any groups, particular those that are marginalised.
Guides, tour leaders and local representatives contracted by our company, receive relevant information and/or training on the avoidance of sexual exploitation of children.
We ask them to follow the Travelife training regarding Child Protection.
What you can do
As our customers, we want you to be informed and aware about commercial, sexual or any other form of exploitation and harassment, particularly of children and adolescents.
It is important to understand that sexual exploitation happens in some form in every country. Even though you do not witness it, it does not mean it does not exist; no country or business is immune from risk. We all have a role to play in eradicating this crime, it’s not just the job of law enforcement and NGOs.
In case you witness any suspect behaviours (a couple where one partner seems to still be a child, a child / adolescent being drunk in presence of older adults), please don’t hesitate to talk directly to your guide or to the hotel. Like this, they can take the appropriate measures and contact the local ChildSafe office in Peru.
