Behind Phima Voyages you find Philippe and Martina Capel, a French-German couple with more than 20 years of experience in hospitality and tourism.
We have fallen in love with the north of Peru, its archaeological and natural riches. Being two enthusiasts, we are highly motivated by the idea of making a difference with our local partners and with you, the traveler.
Our beginnings
In January 2015, our family arrived with our two young boys in Chachapoyas, the capital of the Amazonas region. Very quickly, we knew that we would like to work for the promotion and development of this region. Indeed, the Amazonas region is one of the poorest in Peru – but at the same time one of the richest in archaeological and natural sites.
With the encouragement of professionals in the sector at the local level, we created Phima Voyages in March 2015. We have since specialized in responsible and rural travel in the regions of northern Peru.
What we do
At Phima we offer slow trips that allow you to soak up the country. You can choose between boutique hotels or homestays.
With our local partners we have developed a multitude of traditional activities for you. For example, we offer a weaving or traditional dance workshop, cooking classes or a coffee or cocoa workshop and many more.
We travel regularly to the different regions of the north. This is to meet existing and new partners and find unusual activities.
Training
We work hand in hand with rural communities and entrepreneurs. We help them structure their activities and prepare them to receive our travelers. To do this, we have set up online courses and training, which are in addition to our on-site support.
When travelling with Phima, you are sure to have a different stay and to be able to “experience” the country in a different way than with a standardized tour.
Contact us – we will be happy to organize your ideal stay to Peru!
