The Phima Voyages Team
Martina and Philippe Capel are the cofounders of Phima Voyages.
For 11 years, they owned and managed a 4-star hotel with gourmet restaurant and cooking school in the South of France.
Martinas background is from Hospitality and Tourism Industry and worked several years in a deluxe resort in the Maldives, whereas Philippe studied law and worked in a lawyer’s office for several years. He then got a degree in Restaurant Management, as he was in charge of the hotel’s restaurant.
At the end of 2011 they quit the hotel and started to travel extensively with their two boys, aged 7 and 9 at this time. Their travels went from backpacking in Asia, over spending a year in an RV in the United States and several places of English-teaching volunteering in South America between 2012 and 2015, until they arrived in Northern Peru and created their agency.
After three years living and working in Chachapoyas, Martina and Philippe have returned to Marseille, in the South of France, in 2017 to put their boys, then aged 15 and 13, back to school.
In the office in Chachapoyas, Phima Voyages has currently two employees :
Jhon, a young official tour guide who works with us since May 2017. He speaks English and loves archaeology. Emeline is in charge of reservations and taking care of our travelers in Peru. She is French and also speaks English.
It is priority for us to employ Peruvians, but for this position, it was mostly important to be native speaker and be able to understand the worries that foreigners could have.
We are a young team, eager to make a difference in travel, for both, our clients, but also our local partners.
